2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or submitting an enquiry, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website. These terms apply to all visitors and users. To engage Litigon's legal services, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
3. Nature of Website Content
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a solicitor-client relationship. Do not act or refrain from acting on the basis of website content alone without seeking specific legal advice from a qualified practitioner.
Litigon takes reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and current. However, legal principles and procedural rules change, and we do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any content at any particular time.
4. Legal Services Engagement
A solicitor-client relationship with Litigon is only established through a signed engagement letter or service agreement. Submitting an enquiry form on this website does not constitute an engagement. Services are governed by the terms of the relevant engagement letter, which will set out the scope of work, fees, and other key terms.
Service availability
Litigon operates within Malaysia and provides services primarily in relation to Malaysian law. We do not advise on the law of other jurisdictions. Geographic scope may be discussed during a consultation.
5. User Responsibilities
When using this website or engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information in all communications with us
- Not use the website for any unlawful purpose or in a manner that could damage or impair its operation
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this website or its underlying systems
- Not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit content from this website without prior written permission
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, layout, and design — is the intellectual property of Litigon or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to access and view the content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. No other rights are granted. Reproduction for commercial purposes requires our prior written consent.
7. Payment Terms
Fees for legal services are set out in the relevant engagement letter. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 14 days of issue. All fees are expressed in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Disbursements (court fees, expert fees, travel, and similar costs) are charged at cost and may be invoiced separately or included in regular invoices. Late payments may attract interest at a rate to be specified in the engagement letter.
8. Confidentiality
Litigon owes professional obligations of confidentiality to clients under the Legal Profession Act 1976 and applicable professional conduct rules. These obligations continue after the conclusion of an engagement. Information submitted via enquiry forms on this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, but does not attract legal professional privilege unless and until a formal engagement is established.
9. Disclaimers
This website and its content are provided on an "as available" basis. Litigon does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not make any representations about the likely outcome of any legal matter. Legal proceedings involve inherent uncertainty, and past outcomes do not indicate or warrant future results.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Litigon's liability to you in connection with this website (excluding formal legal engagements, which are governed by the relevant engagement letter) is limited to direct loss only, and in any event shall not exceed MYR 1,000. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special loss, or for loss of data, profit, or opportunity arising from use of this website.
11. Termination of Engagement
Either party may terminate a legal engagement in accordance with the terms of the engagement letter and applicable professional conduct rules. Litigon may withdraw from representation where continued representation would involve a conflict of interest, breach of professional obligations, or where the client relationship has broken down irremediably. Obligations regarding outstanding fees and confidentiality survive termination.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from the use of this website or from these terms (but not from a formal legal engagement, which will specify its own dispute resolution mechanism) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, and in particular the courts sitting in Kuala Lumpur. We encourage parties to attempt informal resolution before commencing any proceedings.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, identified by the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes affecting active engagements will be communicated directly.
